It includes my humorous observations of what people do while they “wait” in the waiting room at the doctor’s office.
Yesterday, while at a doctor’s visit, I had the opportunity to spend a good amount of time of in the waiting room. As I waited, there were the usual cast of characters; the texters, the readers, the sleepers and let’s not forget the line talkers. Oh yes, the line talker on this day certainly lived up to his title. No loss for words here! He worked the waiting room. As one individual got called in for his/her appointment, the line talker would move onto someone else. While others would engage in his conversation from time to time, most were content keeping occupied on their digital devices.
Digital has become the new age of print. Then why didn’t I offer my book in electronic format? Well, the truth is that my vision for Rise and Shine was to be a true “coffee table book”. A large hard-covered book to showcase my favorite photographs. A conversation piece to share my story. Lastly, to get the book into waiting rooms to encourage those going through similar situations.
Since its first publication in July, the majority of orders placed were for the smaller 8x10 sized book. While many prefer the smaller book, the reality is that the price of the larger book is simply not in the budget for many these days. Printing costs are expensive and as the old saying goes...you get what you pay for.
So after much consideration, I am now offering Rise and Shine in ebook format for iPad and iPhone devices. Its printed counterpart will remain. I believe my vision for the book can still be achieved no matter what the format.
So for those of you that waited for the electronic version, I guess you can say patience is a virtue.
